Basic program:
(for groups on the desired date)

During the two-hour, multi-level tour through the House of Silk Culture, you will experience how a priest's robe (parament) is made from the silk thread.
You can feel the atmosphere of an authentic weaving room with wooden Jacquard handlooms, which were used to weave between 1868 and 1992.

Today the industrial monument is run as a museum, where old textile handicrafts are shown and the exciting stories of the velvet and silk city of Krefeld are told; a city that could once boast of being the richest in the land of the Prussians.

We see that the Bauhaus architect Mies von der Rohe erected most of his imposing buildings in Europe in Krefeld and we enjoy the many green parks and forests that were once donated by the "silk barons".

The city palace of the von der Leyen family is also on the route of our "Silk Road". The illustrious "Webervertäll" rounds off the program.

A visit to the town church of St. Dionysius with a tour and organ playing or a tour of the Uerdinger brandy distillery "Dujardin" can be included. We are happy to make a detour to the city forest with a view over the pond to the Deußtempel and the Art Nouveau-influenced city forest house with the large mosaic.
