Holidays without a suitcase but with silk and more

Holiday activity for children offered by “Haus der Seidenkultur”

“Holidays without a suitcase but with silk and more!”  Haus der Seidenkultur (HdS) is offering this holiday activity in the last week of the school holidays from Monday, 13th August to Friday, 17th August from10.00 to 13.00 hours for children aged from 6 to14years.

This holiday activity focuses on a creative approach to various topics around silk. This summer HdS has re-designed this programme based on the positive experience gained from the workshops over the past few years.
The programme which is rich in contrasts, ranges from silk painting to designing and colouring window pictures.  Under the watchful eye of the museum’s own educationalists, the creativity of the little artists knows no bounds. “The children will be able to capture the feeling of summer on silk using textile colours and other equipment and perhaps produce an attractive gift.” That is how the museum’s educationalists Dr. Ulrike Denter, Christel Naber und Renate Leuchtenberg encourage the children to apply their playful phantasy.

Charge per child is Euro 20. This includes all materials, drinks and a summer snack. Family card holders pay Euro 15. Those who book the entire week receive one day free.

The programme modules are devised so that children can participate on one day, on several days or for the entire week.  That is to say: The programme is different every day and that also applies to the summer snack.

All HdS holiday activities take place in “Crefelder Südbahnhof”, Saumstraße 9. A firm booking is required in order to participate. More details under Tel. 510812.
