Unique textile treasures created by the Miao ethnic group in China are currently on show at Haus der Seidenkultur (HdS). A special guided tour (Sunday 26th April at 14.00 hours) and also workshops accompany the exhibition in the museum in Luisenstraße 15.

Traditional Miao silk culture embroidery and patchwork techniques will be taught in four course units on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May from 10.00 to 13.00 hours and 14.00 to 17.00 hours on each day. In the morning the courses relate to patchwork and in the afternoon to embroidery.

The Dutch course instructor, Ien Rappoldt, will teach the techniques which she has learned over many years from the Miao women in Guizhou province in southern China. The course fee of € 45 includes original materials from China and written instructions for further use.
