Educational Centre helps to pave the “Weavers‘ Courtyard”
Chairman of the Association of Friends, Hansgeorg Hauser, sees visible progress in the refurbishment measures being carried out at the museum in the Luisenstraße where the work to pave the “Weavers‘ Courtyard” started a few days ago.
“The fact that the courtyard of the weaving workshop for ecclesiastical textiles will be accessible in future forms part of our extended programme with which we want to surprise visitors in the spring of next year,” says Hauser. He was able to win over the Building Trades Educational Centre in Krefeld to carry out the paving work.
As part of their vocational training, second-year apprentices carried out the paving work on a voluntary basis.  “The work corresponds to the teaching content for road engineering and will be supervised by our trainer Thomas Piefrement. Such long-lasting project work is always interesting for the apprentices,” emphasized Markus Crone, head of the Krefeld Educational Centre BZB.
